Aatif Nawaz is an award-winning British-Pakistani stand-up comedian, actor, writer, television presenter and cricket commentator. A distinctive voice in British comedy, his stand-up combines sharp observations about faith, culture and identity with warm storytelling and an engaging, playful performance style.
He is best known for creating, writing and starring in the acclaimed BBC Three sketch comedy series Muzlamic. His television credits also include The Tez O’Clock Show, Bounty, Sunday Morning Live, Newsnight and Pointless Celebrities, alongside extensive work across BBC radio and television.
Aatif’s live career has included a string of successful solo shows, beginning with Talk Roti To Me at Leicester Square Theatre. He went on to take Muslims Do It 5 Times A Day, AATIFicial Intelligence, The Last Laugh and Instant GrAATIFication to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and venues around the UK. After a seven-year gap between solo tours, he announced a new UK tour of AATIFicial Intelligence for 2026.
Away from stand-up, Aatif is also an established cricket broadcaster. He joined the BBC’s Test Match Special team in 2020 and has since provided commentary and analysis across BBC Sport’s cricket coverage, as well as presenting Today at the Test and co-hosting BBC Radio 5 Live cricket podcast The Doosra.
